Persian influence extended far beyond its use as a literary medium among the elite and ruling class. ![]() The poets and writers from diverse backgrounds of culture, regions and faiths further enhanced the Persian literature during the period and introduced unique style of Indian Persian called Sabk-i-Hindi (the Indian style), which incorporated Indian elements into the Persian literature. The unprecedented recognition of art by the Mughal court and the Deccan rulers encouraged migration of large number of Persian poets to India from Persia and central Asia, converting the country into a veritable nest of singing birds. ![]() ![]() Persian poetry was principally associated with the ruling class and aristocracy of Central Asian origin, who ruled many region of Indian subcontinent. Persian poetry was one of the greatest achievements of medieval Indian literature an enormous amount of verses in various genres, much of it of very high quality produced under the Mughal Emperors (1526A.D.-1857A.D.), especially Babur, Humayun, Akbar, Jahangir and Shahjahan.
